The Barisan Nasional has recaptured the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat which was won by PKR in 2008. Its candidate, MIC information chief P. Kamalanathan, beat PKR candidate Datuk Zaid Ibrahim by 1,725 votes. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the victory in Hulu Selangor has put Barisan Nasional on the right track to win back Selangor in the next general election.
